Domestic Violence is a worldwide problem. While more advanced countries, such as the United Kingdom, are changing the way their courts are handling Domestic Violence cases by creating specialized courts; women in less advanced countries are finally getting the laws set forth to protect them. To us here in the United States we would not think that new laws would encompass such things as forced slavery or genital mutilation. To the women of Nigeria this is a great advancement of their rights as people and citizens of their country.
